Delete your account

You can delete your Krown account from inside the app. You do not need to email anyone or wait for approval.

How

1. Open Krown.
2. Go to the You tab.
3. Open Settings.
4. Choose Delete Account, then Delete Permanently.

If you signed in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm first. If you close Apple’s sheet, nothing is deleted.

What gets deleted

• Your sign-in identity and any active sessions.
• Your profile, username, and avatar.
• Your photos, their clips, and the files behind them.
• Your group memberships.
• The votes you gave.
• Your notification settings, your push token if you had notifications on, and the log of notifications sent to you.
• The reports you made and the blocks you set, in both directions.
• Cards you shared, requests you made through a card, invites you sent or received in the app, and nudges.

What happens to a group you created

The group is not deleted along with you. It is handed to the member who joined earliest, who becomes its creator. The other members keep the group, its posts and its results. If you were the only member left, the group is deleted with you.

What may remain

Past group results remain, but no longer connected to you: a night that was already revealed still happened, so the result keeps its date while the crown loses your name.

A record of invite codes that were tried is not attached to your account and is not removed by deleting it. It holds the code, the time and an identifier for the device that tried it, not your name, and it is deleted after 30 days.

Photos you do not delete

Separately from account deletion, photos and their clips are removed from storage 30 days after they are posted, by a job that runs every hour.

Checked against the running system on 9 October 2026. This is worth stating precisely, because the job has failed before. Until 28 July it failed on every run and never deleted anything. From 25 September it failed again, and the photos that came due were deleted late, on 5 October. From then until 9 October it could not run because a key it needs was missing; no photo came due in that time, and the first run after the fix succeeded. A deletion promise is only worth making when the job is observed to succeed.

Deleting your account does not wait for that job. Your account goes first, then your photos, clips and profile photo, within minutes.
